Dukinfield is a town in the Metropolitan Borough of Tameside, east of Manchester. It grew rapidly during the Industrial Revolution and became closely associated with cotton manufacturing, coal mining and engineering. The industrial heritage remains an important part of the town's identity, although the local economy is now much more diverse.
