Axbridge is a small historic market town in Somerset, situated at the southern edge of the Mendip Hills. The town has medieval origins and retains an attractive collection of historic buildings around its traditional square. Its location makes it a convenient base for exploring the Mendip Hills, Somerset Levels and nearby Cheddar Gorge.

The historical and tourist significance of the town

Visitors can explore the King John's Hunting Lodge Museum, historic streets and the surrounding Mendip countryside.
